Like the start of every House of Mouse episode, Micky come on stage and greets the audience and we see the audience of Disney characters clapping. Mickey then makes a somewhat of a mean joke to Winnie the Poo, but he says he's just joking with him and says he'll be giving some honey on the house. Goofy is then on the roof of the building with honey looking for Poo.
Now Mickey announces that their music guests are The Three Caballeros! "Panchito, Jose, and... who's number three?" Donald states happily to himself back stage that he's the third caballero. Micky then shows a clip asking people on the street if they knew who the third caballeros was.
Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dumb (Alice in Wonderland) confuses them with the Seven Dwarves as does Goofy the first time around. Chip with Mrs. Pots (Beauty and the Beast) says he knows who, but wasn’t given the chance to answer. Goofy confuses The Three Caballeros with “Cubby, Darlene, and Annette.” Timon (Lion King in case you didn't know) says it’s Simba just to score points with him while Pumbaa says it’s Donald Duck. Goofy almost gets it when he was giving the hint “sailor shirt,” but answers Mickey Mouse. Back to Mickey on stage, he says he can’t believe that no one knew that the third Caballero is their own Donald Duck. We then see Donald crying to the side of the stage, a spot light comes on him, and Donald makes a sheepish grin and waves to the audience. Daisy then says “Donald, wow! I didn’t know you were one of the three Cappuccinos!” Of course this ticks off Donald. While Mickey introduces the Quack Street Boys (Huey, Dewey and Louie), Donald says he’ll show everyone that he’s the star of The Three Caballeros.
Daisy then goes to Lumier (Beauty and the Beast) and starts bragging and how she’s dating the third “candelabra.” Lumier then asks if he has a sister.

Later, Mickey runs to Minnie asking where The Three Caballeros are at. Minnie assures him they’ll be there soon, but they’re not their problem, “That is!” Minnie points to Donald who’s now in a rapper style get-up. Mickey tells Donald that’s he supposed to be working the door, but then Donald’s agent, a weasel that looks like the ones in Wind in the Willows, comes in and says how “the duck formally known as Donald” doesn’t do that any more and how his role as the third caballero didn't exploit his full star potential. Donald then walks off to the audience floor and start distributing his “Duck formally known as Donald” merchandise. On stage, Pluto gives Mickey a note that says “the duck formally known as Donald” is signing autographs in the lobby. This surprises Mickey and we then see Donald signing autographs. Mickey reminds the audience that after the next cartoon is The Three Caballeros, but then a big sign comes down on top of Mickey that says “The artist formally known as Donald.” Another cartoon is then shown.
"fo shizzle my nizzle"
Backstage, Donald is lounging in a chair and Mickey says the Panchito and Jose better get there soon. Right then, Panchito bursts onto the scene riding on a bull, “IIEEEEEE-AH-HA-HA-HAI!” Next, a red carpet rolls in and Jose comes out from the end of it. Panchito and Jose both shake Mickey’s hands at the same time, while Donald just sticks his nose up at them. Mickey asks if there’s something they can do about Donald and they assured him they can with their song (see the lyrics section of the site for the words).
WTF! Panchito is like, huge!
Donald is not in the mood
The performance was mostly of Panchito and Jose singing with Donald being pushed around, chased by a bull (with Panchito and Jose riding it), and stomped over by fan girls chasing Panchito and Jose (snicker).
After the show, Donald is enraged and trying to get his hands on Panchito and Jose, but Mickey is holding him back. Donald gives up and Jose and Panchito say that he asked for it. Mickey says to Donald how the crowd love their performance and to listen to them. Donald then realizes that he is a star.
Next, Mike the microphone says that today’s entertainment is courtesy of The Three Caballeros. We then see an “advertisement” for a Three Caballeros album with song titles scrolling up the screen and some Three Caballeros art work. At the end, Panchto and Jose are on stage with Mickey, “the mouse, currently known as Mickey, will see you real soon!” Donald then gets mad again and chases Mickey, Panchito, and Jose off the stage.

Personal opinions: This episode is an obvious must see for Three Caballeros fans. Now, I’m going to get straight to Panchito and Jose since it’s been so long since we’ve seen them in something. I really liked the colors for Panchito here, making his clothes a darker red. Jose definitely looks different, almost like some feathers were trimmed from the back of his head. But it was also a refreshing look. My one big peeve with the episode were Panchito’s and Jose’s voices. I understand that they wouldn’t be able to get voice actors to sound just like they did before, but I did not like the sound of these guys. Panchito’s voice actor sounded like he was trying too hard to sound like Panchito’s old voice and also sounded like he has a head cold. Jose’s voice was a little more tolerable, but it just didn’t seem to fit either. But when they start to sing, you don’t notice how bad the voices are as much.
I must also point out some similarities between this episode and The Three Caballeros movie. First, Panchito’s entrance both here and in the movie, he come onto the scene from the center of the screen very suddenly and does his energetic yell. During the song, The Three Caballeros line up leaning back and Donald falls on his back. This is just like in the movie when they sing “we have the stars to guide us” and Donald falls when they lean back. There is of course some dance steps that are the same. One contrast though is that they seem a lot more rubbery like, as is lots of stretching, than in the movie. That’s something I’m not too fond of, but it doesn’t bother me too much.
